While we are not quite ready to start decorating our house, i’m starting to get the gears moving on several aspects of our house. I have a post coming up on paint colors I plan on using throughout the house, but something I am most excited about is incorporating fabrics. Of course! Fabrics are one of my favorite things. I love how they add texture and color and light and mood.
I’m planning to keep it pretty simple with window treatments. Think: panel curtains, down to the floor, with some rooms also having bamboo roman shades. I love the way long curtains make the windows look bigger but also add space for more fabric. Basically, I just want to get as much pretty fabric into each room. (Don’t get me started on bedding… I’M SO EXCITED).
As you’ll see in my paint color post, we are going with mostly neutrals on the walls, that way we can add color in the decorations, in the art work, and that way I won’t get sick of the color on the wall. I love the look of neutral walls with color on it.
Here is some inspiration photos I’m using to start planning.
Now onto my favorite part. THE FABRIC. I have been scouring the fabric on JoAnn fabric and Fabric.com and have found so many that I love and could see incorporating into our home.
I’m thinking the florals could be beautiful in our bedroom or in our office. I’d consider doing a striped fabric in our guest room. We are using sheer white panels in our living room. Perhaps a geometric print in the dining room. I just have so many ideas!
Where are your favorite places to shop for fabric?
